1. Purpose of These Guidelines

  • These Community Guidelines set out the behavioural standards expected of all users of Closet Club.
  • These Guidelines form part of the Closet Club Terms & Conditions and must be read together with the Damage & Liability Policy, Privacy Policy, and Refund & Cancellation Policy.
  • Breaches may result in enforcement action under the Terms & Conditions, including account suspension, payout withholding, or removal from the Platform.
  • By using the platform, users agree to comply with these Guidelines at all times.

2. User Conduct Standards

  • Users must treat all members with respect, professionalism, and honesty.
  • Harassment, discrimination, intimidation, abusive language, or threatening behaviour is strictly prohibited.
  • All communications relating to hires must remain within the Closet Club platform.
  • Users must not engage in conduct that harms the reputation, safety, or integrity of the platform.

3. Honest Listings & Accurate Representation

  • Items must be accurately described, photographed, and categorised.
  • Users must not misrepresent brand, authenticity, size, condition, or value.
  • Counterfeit, replica, or inauthentic items are strictly prohibited.
  • Declared item values must comply with the Closet Club Damage & Liability Policy.
  • Users must not list or distribute counterfeit, replica, or unauthorised items. Closet Club operates a zero-tolerance policy for intellectual property infringement.

4. Responsible Borrowing & Care of Items

  • Renters must treat all items with reasonable care.
  • Items must be returned on time and in the same condition received, excluding normal wear.
  • Any issues must be reported within the timeframes set out in the Damage & Liability Policy.
  • Failure to report damage or item condition issues within the required reporting timeframe may result in loss of eligibility for compensation or dispute review.

5. Prohibited Conduct

  • Submitting false, exaggerated, or fraudulent damage claims.
  • Inflating declared item values to increase potential compensation.
  • Attempting to bypass platform fees by arranging off-platform transactions.
  • Using the platform for unlawful purposes.
  • Manipulating reviews, ratings, or dispute processes.
  • Posting false, misleading, or malicious reviews or feedback intended to harm another User or the Platform is prohibited.
  • Closet Club reserves the right to remove or restrict reviews that are inaccurate, misleading, retaliatory, or not based on a genuine transaction experience.

6. Safety & Compliance

  • Users must comply with all applicable Australian laws and regulations.
  • If in-person exchanges occur, they must be conducted in safe, public environments.
  • Closet Club reserves the right to intervene where user conduct presents safety risks.

7. Enforcement & Account Action

  • Closet Club may issue warnings, temporarily suspend, permanently remove, or restrict accounts for breaches of these Guidelines.
  • Closet Club may withhold payouts pending investigation of suspected misconduct.
  • Serious or repeated breaches may result in permanent removal from the platform.
  • Closet Club’s decisions regarding enforcement actions are final for the purposes of platform operations. This does not affect any rights users may have under Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law.
  • Users acknowledge that financial actions, including temporary security deposit capture and adjustments, may be taken in accordance with the Terms & Conditions and Damage & Liability Policy during dispute investigations.

8. Relationship to Other Policies

  • Behavioural breaches may also trigger consequences under the Terms & Conditions or Damage & Liability Policy.
  • Financial consequences, including security deposit capture or compensation, are governed by the Damage & Liability Policy.

9. Platform Manipulation

  • Any attempt to manipulate bookings, availability, pricing, or dispute outcomes to gain an unfair advantage is prohibited.
  • Users must not misuse booking requests, swaps, payment authorisations, or cancellation processes to unfairly reserve items, avoid fees, or disrupt another User’s availability.
